Seven Reasons To Believe In The Kansas City Chiefs

1 of 8

The Kansas City Chiefs made a statement on Sunday with a 24-20 win over the defending Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks. That win raised the Chiefs’ record to 7-3 on the season and, with a Denver loss in St. Louis, put KC in a tie for the lead in the AFC West.

After a disappointing 0-2 start the Chiefs have now won seven of their last eight games and are one of the NFL’s hottest teams. However, KC has been down this road before. They won their first nine games last season before going 2-5 down the home stretch and losing in heartbreaking fashion during the first round of the playoffs. So is this hot streak a sign that this team is a legit competitor, or just another hot stretch by an ultimately flawed team that will once again break the hearts of Chiefs fans everywhere?

Given the title of this post, you’ve probably correctly assumed that I believe that this team is for real. I believe 100 percent that this team will make the playoffs. I believe that they have a legitimate chance to win the AFC West. Finally, I believe that this team is built to win games in the playoffs.

Now, it’s possible that I’m just a huge Chiefs homer that is drinking the Kool-Aid after KC has reeled off several wins in a row (it certainly wouldn’t be the first time I was accused of it). However, I think there are legit reasons to believe in this team. Specifically, I think there are seven of them.
