Week 17 San Diego Chargers

The Chargers come into Arrowhead for the last game of the regular season. With the Chiefs sitting as well as they are in the AFC west to this point, they are playing for a wild-card berth in the AFC.

For the Chiefs to win the game, they need to continue the success they had this past week and keep the ball out of Rivers’ hands. With the run game of the Chargers revived under Brandon Oliver, the Chiefs will need to stop Rivers and Co., if they want to end the regular season with a win.

The result? If the Chiefs are sitting pretty in the wildcard race, a loss would not be surprising. Expect Andy Reid to once again rest his starters to prep for the playoffs. Though the second team played well against the Chargers at the end of last season, if the Chiefs are already in, this might be a loss as the Chargers will have more to play for. However the second-string Chiefs team is tough at home and I foresee they will take the victory from the hands of the Chargers.

While it is so hard to predict the remainder of the season for the Kansas City Chiefs, I have the Chiefs’ record at 10-6, which might be enough to make it into the playoffs, given the nature of the AFC.

If the Chiefs ride the momentum of the victories they have, playoffs could very much be a reality. As the Royals prepare to Take the Crown, it would be impressive to see both the Chiefs and the Royals have successful seasons.
