Kansas City was back at it again today for practice but they were missing three key players when they took the field. Here was Wednesday’s injury report.
FULL PRACTICE
S Husain Abdullah (quad)
S Eric Berry (heel/quad)
WR Frankie Hammond Jr. (shoulder)
WR Dwayne Bowe (quad)
CB Marcus Cooper (ankle)
WR Junior Hemingway (hip)
C Eric Kush (shoulder)
LB Josh Martin (quad)
WR Albert Wilson (ankle)
Marcus Cooper’s full participation today in practice is good news considering the Chiefs need for him to be healthy this week against the Broncos. This is unless you want Ron Parker matching up against Demaryius Thomas. No? Okay.
Kansas City has four quad injuries between Abdullah, Berry, Bowe, and Martin. It would seem the new ‘hamstring’ is the quad when it comes to fashionable injuries. All four are expected to be okay for Sunday unless there was a new development today.
Eric Kush missed practice time last week with the shoulder injury he is listed for this week. It would be risky but Kush may be a solution for the Chiefs at left guard given the way Mike McGlynn played on Sunday. At least he has an understanding of the offense and looked good during the preseason, which is something a lot of the Chiefs offensive linemen cannot say.
