Kansas City Chiefs Injury Report: Eric Berry, Nine Others Not Expected To Play Tonight
By Ben Nielsen
We’ve got something like our first inactives report of the season in and, as expected, Eric Berry will not be playing in tonight’s preseason opener.
Berry hurt his heel practicing last weekend but did return to practice on Monday. Andy Reid said he planed to be cautious with his all-pro safety so it is not a surprise that he will not be playing tonight.

The wide receivers with hamstring injuries – A.J. Jenkins, Mark Harrison, and Junior Hemingway – will also not be playing tonight. This is a big blow for guys like Harrison and Hemingway who are trying to make the team. It is also a huge opportunity for guys like Weston Dressler and Albert Wilson to create some space between them and the injured players for some of the remaining spots on the roster.
Joe McKnight, who has participated in just one practice this training camp, will be inactive. He’s been recovering from a minor knee operation.
Mike DeVito, who hurt his hand earlier in the week will not play today, and neither will Mike Catapano, who has been sick for over a week. Kyle Love and Dezman Moses are also not expected to play.
And, of course, Sanders Commings is out with his broken leg.
