Andy Reid: Tyler Bray Kansas City Chiefs Most Improved Player

Need a little spice to go with your first Kansas City Chiefs gameday of the 2014 season? How about this nugget from Paul Burmeister, who will be calling the game with Trent Green tonight.

Tyler Bray may be the most improved player on the team, eh? This would be good news for the Chiefs in the sense that Bray may have a bigger ceiling than any of the four quarterbacks in camp. A significant leap forward and that may make Chase Daniel expendable at the end of the preseason either via a trade or release.

It has been a while since we’ve had a preseason as intriguing as this one, mainly because of the quarterback competition. Specifically, Bray and Aaron Murray are players many fans want to see on the field which makes the second half of these games almost more intriguing than watching the first team players in the first quarter. Add in the wide receiver competition, offensive line and secondary questions, along with trying to see what guys like Dee Ford, Mike Catapano, and De’Anthony Thomas have to offer and this becomes must see television for all four quarters.

The Chiefs plan to play all four quarterbacks tonight for one quarter each. It is the goal, Reid said, to get as many players on the field as possible so they can get some tape on them. John Dorsey is on record as saying he values the preseason games over the training camp practices when it comes to making roster decisions so tonight is a big night for everyone.
