How much will value of consistency be worth to the Chiefs?

For the first time since the 2006-2007 seasons, the Kansas City Chiefs will be returning the same general manager, head coach, offensive coordinator, defensive coordinator, and quarterback. Kansas City has been the epitome of change since the end of the Dick Vermeil era and it has shown in the crazy fluctuations in record and the inconsistency of the franchise.

There is something to be said about stability, especially from positions like general manager, head coach, and quarterback. This has been the model that has treated New England, Pittsburgh, and Indianapolis so well so far the century, and it is the model Chiefs fans need to demand from Clark Hunt if the Chiefs are going to turn into a consistent winning franchise again.

The question right now for the Chiefs is how much value comes with consistency in terms of one season. We all saw the improvement the offense made in the second half of last season and in the playoff game so what should we expect at the beginning of this year when the schedule will be much tougher?

If the Chiefs are going to stay in the playoff hunt this season they are going to need to take advantage of not having to learn a new system and build off of their knowledge from 2013. The deeper the Chiefs can get into the playbook and the more in-sync the team can be then the better chance they have at knocking off some of the better opponents on their schedule. If their growth is stagnant then expect 2014 to be a long season if with the roster improvements.
