Everyone’s favorite safety has signed with the Houston Texans.
Kendrick Lewis agreed to a one-year deal with Houston, who will be reuniting with former head coach and defensive coordinator Romeo Crennel. Here’s Twitter proof of the reunion.
Getting Lewis back into a role he’s had success in makes sense for both Lewis and the Texans. From 2010-2011 Lewis had back-to-back seasons of +4.8 and +1.9 PFF grades before a shoulder injury in 2012 destroyed his value. In 2012 and 2013 Lewis combined for a -13.7 overall PFF grade, including his -3 performance against the Indianapolis Colts in the playoffs.
It should be noted Lewis played more snaps than any other Chiefs defensive player in 2013. Filling those snaps for the Chiefs in 2013 will be a question mark for Bob Sutton heading into training camp. KC did re-sign Husain Abdullah and will have Sanders Commings back from injury.
