It looks like the Chiefs are still going to be in the market for a tight end.

We learned Kansas City has Vance Walker; Akeem Jordan Update” href=”https://arrowheadaddict.com/2014/03/13/nfl-rumors-chiefs-interest-brandon-pettigrew-vance-walker-akeem-jordan-update/” target=”_blank”>expressed interest in Pettigrew yesterday but apparently the fit wasn’t there as he ended up signing shortly after rumors surfaced of the Chiefs’ interest.

From Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free-Press:

"The Lions finalized a deal with Pettigrew around mid-day Thursday, shortly before their No. 2 target at the position, Scott Chandler, re-signed with the Buffalo Bills.Pettigrew also had interest from the New York Jets, Oakland Raiders and Kansas City Chiefs, among others."

The Chiefs are probably looking for depth as much as anything at the tight end position. Anthony Fasano, Tony Moeaki, and Travis Kelce were out with injuries for much of the season. Kelce and Moeaki  never played a snap. Sean McGrath on his late beard held the fort just fine given the circumstances but the Chiefs are probably going to want to upgrade his spot on the roster.

In terms of other tight ends who are still available, the Chiefs have shown interest in Jermichael Finley. Former Missouri tight end Chase Coffman is a free agent as is Fred Davis.
