Hey, it looks like the Chiefs are going to be able to keep someone!
The team has not confirmed the deal yet and none of the local or national reporters have confirmed the report as of this moment. But there is this:
Abdullah would be a key signing for the Chiefs who probably are going to with him and Sanders Comings at free safety. Last time we saw Abdullah in action he picked off Andrew Luck twice and allowed only three receptions on seven targets. For the season he allowed only 16 receptions on 27 targets and saw his playing time increase as the season progressed. His final PFF grade was +6 with a +4.7 coverage grade.
It still wouldn’t be a surprise if the Chiefs added one more safety via the draft or free agency but it doesn’t look like they are going to make a play for a big name like Jairus Byrd. Kansas City may be thinking corner over safety if they can keep Abdullah as Getlin suggests they will.
