Antonio Cromartie’s Tweets Suggests He’s Been Cut

January 26, 2014; Honolulu, HI, USA; Team Rice cornerback Antonio Cromartie of the New York Jets (31) celebrates after catching the football on a Team Sanders
New York Jets cornerback Antonio Cromartie appears to have been cut by the team. This has been deducted based on a few tweets he made this afternoon, including this one:
Logic would suggest…
So there’s that. (UPDATE:
End Update.)
Cromartie, who will turn 30 in April, is a name to keep an eye on because of his relationship with current Chiefs defensive coordinator and former Jets assistant Bob Sutton.
This past season was not his best. He was given a -12 grade by Pro Football Focus, -17.5 coverage. However, in 2012 Cromartie was a +10, +11.1 corner for the Jets. He even fits the size bill the Chiefs are looking for at 6-2, 203 pounds.
Cornerbacks have been going at a high price so far this off-season but it would be a surprise if Cromartie was one of the bargain corners after his performance last season and his age. Kansas City has been trying to move Brandon Flowers to the slot but hasn’t had the depth at cornerback to replace him on the outside. Cromarite would be a good fit to fill that spot.
In the meantime, watch Cromartie try to name all of his children.
