In case you haven’t heard — and if you haven’t you’ve been living under a rock because it’s all anybody is talking about — the head coach of the San Francisco 49ers, Jim Harbaugh was in town visiting his in-laws and took in a KU basketball game. While he was there — dressed in his traditional 49ers black sweatshirt and hat — he had a chance to talk to the team and do a couple of interviews.
During one of those interviews, at the game where Harbaugh introduced his father-in-law who was celebrating his 77th birthday at the game, the reporter indicated that the Kansas City Chiefs would be heading to California during the 2014 season to face the 49ers.
"“Yeah, we’ve got Alex Smith and the Kansas City Chiefs so that will be a tough one for us.” – Jim Harbaugh."
This is perhaps one of the top match ups of the 2014 season as Smith will return to California to face his former team. Although the 2014 schedule won’t be published until sometime next month, I would be willing to bet a couple months of pay checks that it will be a prime-time game — maybe even on Monday Night Football. Either way, let’s hope the Chiefs provide that “tough” opponent Harbaugh thinks they are.
