In a move that surprised everyone because few knew who these guys actually were, the Kansas City Chiefs released linebacker Robert James and tight end Dominique Jones.
You may remember Jones from being one of the rotation of “off the street” tight ends the Chiefs had to sign to deal with the injuries to Anthony Fasano, Travis Kelce, and Tony Moeaki. The three combined to appear in only 10 games so there was a lot open roster spots at the tight end position to fill, Sean McGrath being the most famous among them. Others included Kevin Brock and Richard Gordon.
Jones finished the season with two catches for 34 yards. For visual proof he was on team, Jones is pictured above with McGrath and Alex Smith. No, the picture was not photoshopped.
Robert James was another back of the roster linebacker who saw no action this season with the Chiefs. James was signed for emergency purposed on New Years Eve after James-Michael Johnson was placed on injured reserve.
