Final Off Season Grade: B
Dorsey hit some of his signings out of the park, but he really whiffed on a couple as well. Most notably was the huge payday he gave to Dunta Robinson, a guy who rode the bench the second half of the season. Not even the great waiver-wire acquisitions could make up for that.
Dorsey really gave out some big contracts in his first off season and now the Chiefs are paying for it with limited salary cap room heading into the 2014 season. We can only hope that he learned his lesson that more isn’t always more and sometimes you can do more with less, like with the waiver wire.
Overall, Dorsey has impressed me with his ability to churn the bottom of the roster and find talent where nobody expected to find it. I expect big things out of him as the Chiefs move forward to the future.
