Tre Mason – 5’10 196lbs – Auburn

Tre Mason has almost single handedly gotten Auburn to the BCS Championship. He rushed for 164 yards and one touchdown against the vaunted Crimson Tide and destroyed Mizzou with 304 yards and four touchdowns. He does not have elite size or speed but what he does have is excellent vision and the ability to pick up yards after contact. Mason has rushed for 1,621 yards with an average of 5.7 yards per carry and 22 touchdowns. He has also shown the ability to catch the ball out of the backfield with 11 passes for 121 yards. Despite having such a huge year and being a Heisman hopeful, Mason will likely not be drafted until the start of the third round. As we all know in today’s NFL, running backs are taking a back seat to the other skill positions associated with the passing game and a solid running back can be found in the later rounds. I do believe Mason will be able to make noise in the NFL. Last year the player that threw a monkey wrench in the SEC was a quarterback, this year, it was Tre Mason.

Well everyone, that was the rundown. Seeing how it’s Christmas Eve, I want to wish you all a Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays. I want to thank everyone for reading my pieces this year and I can’t wait to start my complete mock draft next week. I also want to thank Arrowhead Addict and everyone involved for allowing me to join the team and being like a second family…who only talks about football. Oh, what a relief it is.

GO CHIEFS!!
