Marcus Cooper – Cornerback
6-2, 192 lbs, 23 years old
7th round pick by San Francisco in 2013

Cooper was the 49ers 7th round pick this season out of Rutgers. He has great size, good speed (4.45 forty at his pro day), and good strength (20 bench press reps at 225 lbs). Cooper entered college as a WR and has only played CB for a few years. He is considered very raw, but has great natural tools and would appear to have the makings of a great special teams player. I found a few references to him being a big hitter for a CB. Let’s be honest, if he can play special teams well he’s already breaking even with Jalil Brown with the upside to develop into more.
