So, the Kansas City Chiefs offense and defense both had good first drives utilizing their first team players in their first preseason game. How did their “first drives” compare to their AFC West counterparts? Was there a clear cut winner?

I just read Lyle Graversen’s terrific article called “Alex Smith: Smart And Accurate Or Captain Checkdown?” It’s a must read if you want to stay current on the hottest issues related to the Kansas City Chiefs. What’s clear about Graversen’s post is that much is being made about the Chiefs first drive of the season and that would not only hold true offensively, but defensively as well.

So, I purchased NFL.com’s deal to watch all preseason games priced at $19.99 but, found a promo code online (directv) and paid $14.99. So, doing a little stomach turning while watching the Broncos, Chargers and Raiders first drives was in order. Not to worry, I didn’t throw up but, I’ll bet some of their fans wanted to.
