Kyle Orton Signs With Dallas Cowboys
This one isn’t going to go over well.
The Dallas Cowboys have signed QB Kyle Orton to a three-year contract, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
This is very interesting because it is hard to believe that Orton has any realistic shot at taking Tony Romo’s job. The Chiefs have said that they were interested in bringing Orton back. Had Orton came to KC, he’d have likely had a much better chance at landing a starting gig.
This could be about money. Dallas was the first place Orton visited. He might have drawn more interest if he waited to sign, especially with the Manning Derby unsettled.
The Chiefs said they were intent on bringing in competition at QB. With Orton now in Dallas and Jason Campbell in Chicago, along with Manning snubbing the team, you have to wonder just who that competition will be.
