Antonio Gates Not Expected To Play vs. Chiefs

The Kansas City Chiefs will take on the San Diego Chargers this afternoon, but it may not be a Charger team that is at full strength.

According to Pro Football Talk, the Chargers will be without future hall of fame TE Antonio Gates. Gates is listed as questionable with a foot injury.

PFT is quoting an unnamed source so there could always be a last-minute change.

Still, Gates not being on the field certainly won’t hurt KC’s already slim chances of victory. The Chiefs have trouble covering TEs and with Gates on the sideline, the defense should be able to focus more on containing Vincent Jackson.
