Chiefs Fall To Bucs 25-0

The Kansas City Chiefs did not enjoy a pleasant preseason debut, falling to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 25-0.

The Chiefs showed a serious lack of depth tonight. Their reserves showed a complete inability to move the football.

If there was any good news on the night, it was that the starters hardly played. Josh Looney of KCChiefs.com had a nice tweet about players who never stepped on the field. Key players.

For those asking, these #Chiefs didn’t play 2nite: Breaston, Hali, Flowers, Moeaki, Gaither, Gilberry, Dorsey, Wiegmann, Gregg, DJ, McClain.less than a minute ago via TweetDeck Favorite Retweet ReplyJosh Looney

Matt Cassel, while he handed the ball off some, never threw a pass. Jamaal Charles did not touch the ball. In the end, the best players to touch the ball were Thomas Jones and Dexter McCluster. Both had a couple of nice runs.

We’ll have much more tomorrow but for now I urge you not to panic. KC’s best players did not really play. They may not be the deepest team but they certainly aren’t as bad as the looked tonight.
