For some reason, there have been a rash of Clausen to KC articles in the last couple of days. Most notably from ESPN.

Look, folks, it isn’t going to happen. For the Chiefs to start over with a rookie QB, just because their offense of coordinator likes him, the year after they traded away a 2nd round pick for the QB they have is ridiculous.
Let’s not even mention that Cassel’s value now has got to be lower than it was when the Chiefs traded for him. He is coming off a mediocre season and has a big contract. No team is going to trade a 2nd round pick for Cassel and his contract at this point, not even Josh McDaniels. The Chiefs would end up getting less value in return for their 2nd round investment.
I would think Kiper and Co. have more to write about with the draft coming up and 32 teams to cover. I know times are slow but sheesh!
Scott Pioli came in to build a team and the first thing he did was bring in Matt Cassel to be the QB. He is going to give him more than one transition season to prove he can be the guy.
Whether you like Cassel or not, the folks in KC making the decisions do not consider QB an area of need, so don’t waste brain power on Clausen to KC and Cassel to Denver scenarios.
If the Chiefs ever trade Matt Cassel to the Broncos, I will board the subway to Coney Island, eat 50 Nathan’s hot dogs and then ride the Cyclone. I will film it and put it on AA.
