The Kansas City Chiefs have to remain flexible as the first rounds of the NFL draft on the folds.

The Chiefs find themselves in an unusual situation this year. They have been linked heavily to early-round quarterbacks, as they’ve met with all of the top-ranked QBs in this draft—most recently with Mitch Trubisky.

As the draft nears, rumors surface about quarterbacks being taken higher and higher. The Chiefs may be at the mercy of a very turbulent first round as other teams jockey for the chance to select one of these overhyped and overrated signal-callers.

In a year when it’s unlikely that they can retain all 10 of their draft picks on the final roster, the Chiefs have ammunition enough to trade up. Whether that’s a decision John Dorsey makes or not will be high on the list of things to watch.
