The Kansas City Chiefs have an athletic stable of pass catchers currently on the roster. Should the team be looking to add to it in the 2017 NFL draft?

This week on the podcast, Arrowhead Pride’s Seth Keysor and I are in the war room, building the positional draft plans for the Kansas City Chiefs.

The 2016 team was spurred to new productivity last season by rookie Tyreek Hill. He heads the list of an athletic corps of wide receivers. Hill provides the deep speed to stretch the defense. Jeremy Maclin provides the all-around route running and separation of a number one receiver. Chris Conley provides the big bodied athletic ‘X’ target. The trio stands to take a step forward together in 2017.

Beyond the top trio, the team has a lot of question marks. In the case of injury, a draft choice to compete with and overtake Albert Wilson is a selection worth making for John Dorsey. DeMarcus Robinson has talent I’d like to see more of, but competition is good for this roster. Likewise, the team could use a second pass-catching tight end option. The three journeymen behind Travis Kelce have been inconsistent at best. If the second tight end can block as well, it will be a boon for the offense.
