Locked on Chiefs – Can KC Offense, Reid and Smith recover?

The Chiefs are coming off perhaps their worst loss of the season.

It’s easy to say that points wise it wasn’t their worst but performance wise in the second half it really was. Play calling was bad and the Chiefs need to get that fixed as soon as possible. Reid didn’t give fans for much hope that anything would change in the coming weeks as he stated he thought they were aggressive enough in the second half. There are a lot of people that would disagree with that assessment and we will see if he meant what he said this Sunday.

There were no updates on new injuries from Sunday’s game but it sounds like KC made it out of the game pretty healthy. While the Chiefs ability to get healthy is a big key to how the season will continue, the health of players like Justin Houston and Dee Ford showed they weren’t quite there yet when they played on Sunday. Houston did well against the run keeping his edge but both of those players failed to notch a single stat at all on Sunday against Tennessee.

On Sunday in Arrowhead, KC plays for a playoff spot. Regardless of how they got here, they are one win away from getting back to the playoffs under Reid. They would likely head to the winner of the AFC South and they should be favored in that game if Oakland doesn’t slide down the stretch. KC doesn’t hold the keys to its own destiny anymore but they should be in a good position to compete come January especially if they can get back a healthy Jamaal Charles.
