The Kansas City Chiefs are visiting the Carolina Panthers on Sunday afternoon at Bank of America Stadium, looking to run their record to 7-2.

Kansas City has a very simple goal on Sunday. Find a way to win, getting your record to 7-2 and moving into the coveted second seed of the AFC playoff picture.

Of course, doing that will be easier typed than done. The Chiefs are playing a very good Panthers team that while 3-5, have won two consecutive games and are desperate. Carolina is without left tackle Michael Oher and could be sans center Ryan Kalil, an All-Pro and the best of the linemen.

On the other side, Kansas City is without defensive end Jaye Howard, outside linebacker Justin Houston and wide receiver Jeremy Maclin. Inside linebacker Derrick Johnson is also questionable with a hamstring injury, although it would be surprising if he does not play.

If the Chiefs lose, it is not the end of the world. At 6-3, they would still control their fate within the AFC West and the playoff picture. Winning out would get them at least a second seed, and going either 6-1 or 5-2 over their last seven would likely do the trick as well, depending on who the wins are against.
