The Kansas City Chiefs continue to be the walking wounded in the secondary, with rookie corner D.J. White breaking his hand.
On Wednesday, Chiefs head coach Andy Reid gave some updates on the injuries around the roster. FOr starters, rookie sixth-round pick D.J. White will miss this week’s game against the Indianapolis Colts with a fractured hand. However, Reid made it clear that White could return at some point, so this may not be a season-ending situation.
On the offensive side, right tackle Mitch Schwartz has a sprained ankle and won’t practice. Schwartz has never missed a snap in five NFL seasons, so hopefully he can recover quickly and get back on the field for Sunday. If he can’t, Kansas City will likely turn to Jah Reid, who is a capable backup and a middling starter.
As for the good news, cornerback Phillip Gaines is expected to practice fully this week. When you are about to go up against T.Y. Hilton and Andrew Luck, it is always nice to have your top two corners. Gaines would be a huge help.
#Chiefs CB Phillip Gaines should be back practicing full this week. If progresses, should be available vs Colts.

Finally, outside linebacker Justin Houston is not expected to play this week, something we were all told on Monday. Houston is still working his way back after being activated for practice last Monday. He will likely continue to work on the side and perhaps get into some team drills this week.
