The Kansas City Chiefs have given out their Wednesday injury report, and Marcus Peters and Jamaal Charles are both featured.

Alright, nobody panic. Kansas City head coach Andy Reid has taken to the podium and announced that corner Marcus Peters – who was named the AFC Defensive Player of the Week – would not be practicing on Wednesday. Peters was sent home from the team facility as he is dealing with the flu. Barring some kind of complete disaster, he’ll be playing on Sunday night.

Meanwhile, Jah Reid and Tamba Hali are also out. Hali is just getting his normal day of rest, while Reid continues to work his way back from a sprained ankle. Speaking of ankles, Charcandrick West is dealing with a sprain of his own and will also sit this one out. It is not known how serious it is.

On the positive side, Reid stated that Charles will practice this week. You would have to think that the team would like to get him out on the field for this game. If the Chiefs thought he was going to miss the first six weeks of the season, they would have put him on the PUP list.

Having Charles in this contest would be huge. While it’s foolish to expect him at 100 percent in his first game back,, he adds an entirely new dimension. With all due respect to Spencer Ware, Charles is the only back on the team who can take it to the house on any play.
