The Kansas City Chiefs are hosting the New York Jets on Sunday afternoon at Arrowhead Stadium. Here is all you need to know.

It’s Week 3 of the NFL season, and the Chiefs and Jets find themselves playing a huge game. Kansas City and New York are both 1-1 and considered a couple of the stronger teams in the league. Whoever wins this game will not only be 2-1, but will also have a huge tiebreaker should these two need it come New Year’s Day.

Of course, to get it, the Chiefs will need to play much better than they have the first two weeks. Kansas City was able to bail itself out against the San Diego Chargers in Week 1, coming back form a 21-point deficit to win. However, Week 2 brought a loss as the Chiefs were simply unable to get anything going offensively due to a slew of penalties and three turnovers.

Perhaps Alex Smith and the fellas can do something today against a Jets defense that has a great line and not much else. The secondary has been absolutely torched, ranking 32nd in the NFL in yards per attempt (11.0). While the sample size is admittedly small, a look at the secondary reveals a pretty stark lack of talent, especially with Darrelle Revis no longer being who he once was.

Should the Chiefs win and the Denver Broncos lose in the early window, Kansas City would have the lead back in the AFC West. Sunday is going to be huge.
