The Kansas City Chiefs will be taking on the Houston Texans in the AFC Wild Card round. We are not sure yet of the time and date, but the Chiefs will be traveling to play Houston in NRG Stadium, the place where this crazy season began.

Of course, we all know the history. Kansas City has not won in the playoffs since 1993. oddly enough, it was in Houston that the last playoff win came for the Chiefs, when Derrick Thomas, Neil Smith, Joe Montana and Marty Schottenheimer orchestrated a win against the favored Houston Oilers at the Astrodome.

Let’s be honest, this is a game the Chiefs should win. The Texans have a great defensive end in J.J. Watt and a terrific wide receiver in DeAndre Hopkins, The rest of that team is anywhere from decent to bad. Kansas City is also expected to get Justin Houston back, along with Jah Reid and Husain Abdullah. Kansas City has no excuse not to win.

Ultimately, this is not a beauty pageant. Kansas City needs to focus throughout the week, get a victory and then either travel to the New England Patriots or Denver Broncos.

It’s playoff time. It’s time to survive and advance.
