Good morning, Addicts! Hopefully you have some plans lined up for Saturday, perhaps get some quality time in the the family or maybe kick back and relax in solitude. Either way, it is great to have a day away from the office. The Kansas City Chiefs will be ready and waiting for us on Sunday, hoping to take down the San Diego Chargers for their fifth win of the season.

Kansas City is currently one game out of the playoff picture in the AFC, but could be sitting in a wild card spot by Monday night if all goes to plan.

Here is the news you need to know:

Jaye Howard and Chiefs are working on long-term dealTerez Paylor of the Kansas City Star

"Howard, 26, has emerged as a force on the Chiefs’ defensive line this season, recording 40 tackles — the fourth-most on the team and the most among any Chiefs defensive lineman or edge rusher. Howard also has six tackles for loss, tied for second-most on the team, and 2  1/2 sacks while playing all along the defensive front."

Kansas City has suddenly become a top-10 run defenseJoel Thorman of Arrowhead Pride

"The Chiefs defensive line took a big step forward this year with the return of Mike DeVito and the emergence of Jaye Howard. That’s like adding two more-than-quality starters to a defensive line that already has two more-than-quality starters in Allen Bailey and Dontari Poe. Jaye Howard merits a special shoutout as a great run blocker so far this year. He’s been a bit of a revelation in that department."

How the Chargers will beat the ChiefsJohn Gennaro of Bolts From The Blue

"Still, this team is probably about as healthy as they’ve been since Week 1. D.J. Fluker may not go due to a concussion he got in practice, but the rest of the offensive line seems ready to go. Jason Verrett and Brandon Flowers are probably as healthy as they’ve been all year, they needed that week off more than most, and even Manti Te’o and Corey Liuget have been practicing a little bit."
