Kansas City Chiefs: An airing of grievances

I think I speak for fans of the Kansas City Chiefs everywhere when I say………

AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!

Look, normally I pride myself in my ability to step back and rationally analyze the situation, but this week that’s not happening. It’s time for a good old fashioned rant. I’m not a hot head. I’m not a “Debbie downer” by nature. In fact, in my early days of writing about the Chiefs over at Arrowheadpride I literally adopted the Kool Aid man as my avatar and all around persona after being told by countless commenters that I was drinking too much of the red and gold Kool Aid. So when I’m fed up and need to vent some frustrations I think there’s a good chance that many of you are feeling the same way.

So in the tradition of the Festivus Airing of Grievances (if you don’t get that reference, shame on you for not watching Seinfeld) I’ve got some things to say to the Kansas City Chiefs, because in the words of the immortal Frank Costanza:

“I got a lot of problems with you people and now you’re gonna hear about it!”

First off, I’d like to say to the team as a whole…

WHERE IS YOUR HEART????

WHERE IS THE FIRE????

Why do I feel like I am taking these last three loses harder than some of you are? Why do I feel like I’m more fired up on a big third down than the players out there on the field? I’m jumping up and down in my living room, clapping my hands, yelling “Let’s go!” while you players on the field just stand there with your hands on your hips.

I get that it’s a physically demanding game and that I wouldn’t last two seconds out there, but you guys are paid millions of dollars to play this game and I just want to see some fight out there. I want to know that win or lose my team has some fire in their belly.

You guys shot yourselves in the foot against the Broncos and gave away a game you should have won. A mentally tough team would have gone into Green Bay determined to make up for that lost opportunity. Instead you were embarrassed in prime time by Aaron Rodgers and the Packers. Did that nationally televised butt kicking light a fire under you?

Noooooooooooo sir, negative, nope nope nope. We got the same flat performance and EVERYONE is to blame. The offense, the defense, the coaches….everyone.

We have to start somewhere though, so let’s go with the head coach first….
