The Kansas City Chiefs will take on a familiar foe in the bright lights of Arrowhead Stadium on primetime; Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos.

The Chiefs are no strangers to the sure-fire first-ballot Hall of Fame quarterback.

A sad fact for this team to soak up is that the Chiefs have NEVER beat Peyton Manning and the Broncos since he began slinging the ball for them in 2012. Can this finally be the year the Chiefs will overcome that milestone and give Manning and company their first loss?

Let’s take a look at Manning vs Kansas City at the contests that have taken place in Arrowhead Stadium, since Peyton joined Denver.

The first game Manning played in a Broncos uniform against the Chiefs was way back on Nov. 25, 2012. Manning put together a solid game during his visit, he went 22-of-37 passing with 285 yards, along two touchdowns and one interception. This amounted to a 59.9% completion rate, averaging 7.7 yards per attempt and a passer rating of 90.5.

During the game Manning was sacked two times, which would be the only real positive stat to take away from the 17-9 victory in favor of Denver. Manning’s second trip to Arrowhead (12/01/2013) turned out to be best game against the Chiefs during his Denver era.

He went 22-of-35 for 403 yards, five touchdowns and two interceptions, good for a 62.9% completion rate, averaging 11.5 yards per attempt with a 118.2 passer rating and was not sacked once. Denver won the game, 35-28.

Last year saw the immortal Peyton start to show signs of aging when he came into KC on 11/30/2014.

In 2014 he went only 17-of-34, 50.0%, 179 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions with a passer rating of 85.3. Manning was also sacked by the Chiefs one time during what many say, was the result of an injury he suffered against the Chargers. Denver still managed to win the game 29-16.

The totals for Manning at Arrowhead since 2012 are 61-of-105 passing attempts, 57%, nine touchdowns, three interceptions, three sacks and a cumulative passer rating of 100.6.
