Chiefs practice update: All systems go

The Kansas City Chiefs would normally have Tuesday off, but when you are playing a Thursday Night Football game against the Denver Broncos, you practice. So that is exactly what Kansas City did, and everybody was on the field, according to Terez Paylor of the Kansas City Star.

Basically we have Jeremy Maclin, Husain Abdullah, Tamba Hali and D.J. Alexander working as limited participants, but you can bet your life they will all be playing. Frankly, it seems more like a precaution than anything else. Maclin landed hard on his back in the third quarter and briefly came out, so he is likely sore. I don’t remember seeing any of the other three coming out of the game at any point.

It is also good that Eric Fisher is practicing. It would be wise to anticipate Jah Reid getting his second consecutive start, and this time he will be facing Von Miller. Reid did an admirable job on short notice against J.J. Watt, limiting him to a pair of sacks. While Watt did fill up the stat sheet, he did not destroy the game in any way. Fisher appears like he can at least go in an emergency situation, which could be huge.

The last thing I take from this is Travis Kelce not needing to be limited. Kelce was in and out of the game against the Houston Texans after taking a wicked hit from Kevin Johnson. It appeared he was either dealing with the wind being knocked out or a rib injury.
