Good morning, Addicts! This is a big day for yours truly, who turns 27 years old today. In other words, I’m old and used up. Moving on. We have another Kansas City Chiefs practice at training camp on Tuesday, with the team cracking the pads for a second consecutive day. However, we first read a great column about Eric Berry, who continues to be a credit to the organization both on and off the field.

Eric Berry continues to inspire those in tougher positionsSam Mellinger of the Kansas City Star

"Particularly with the backdrop of arrests and scandals and the never-ending Deflategate controversy in the NFL, Berry’s recovery from cancer and return to the Chiefs’ practice field might be the best thing in sports right now. What’s more, the whole thing just becomes cooler and more important the more you find out about Berry and his fight."

Marcus Peters looks great in practice with three interceptionsTerez Paylor of the Kansas City Star

"Peters, who was taken with the No. 18 pick in this year’s NFL Draft, made his presence known from the get-go, recording three interceptions during team periods — with at least two coming off quarterback Alex Smith."

Chiefs know their starting offensive lineAdam Teicher of ESPN

"The Chiefs have remained consistent with a starting offensive line that features Eric Fisher and Donald Stephenson at tackle, Ben Grubbs and Jeff Allen at guard and Eric Kush at center. The second-team offensive line has consistently been made up of Jarrod Pughsley and Derek Sherrod at tackle, Laurent Duvernay-Tardif and Zach Fulton at guard and Mitch Morse at center."

Kansas City signs former Mizzou receiver L’Damian WashingtonJoel Thorman of Arrowhead Pride

"Washington, listed at 6’4 and 200 pounds, will have a long ways to go to make the roster. Since entering the league as a 2014 undrafted free agent he has spent time with six teams. The Chiefs are his seventh. He has no career catches."
