Coffee with the Chiefs – Mitch Morse turning heads

Good morning, Addicts! It’s a beautiful Tuesday and we are one day closer to both the Justin Houston contract deadline Armageddon and training camp. Hopefully, the world won’t come to an end with a disaster regarding Houston and we can all head to St. Joe’s happy (by the way, I’ll be at camp Aug. 1-3 if anyone wants to come over and yell obscenities).

Let’s get right into the news of the day about the Kansas City Chiefs:

Mitch Morse making an impression on Chiefs Pete Sweeney of KCChiefs.com

"As far as a position along the offensive line, Morse has done it all. Different situations during his time at Missouri called for him to play some center his sophomore season and later play significant time at right and left tackle."

"If the offensive line is better than “meh” at run blocking this year we could see an improvement statistically from Knile Davis, and maybe even a big one. But I doubt it’ll be due to him changing much as a player (you know “taking a step forward”), but simply an improved situation. Of course, people will still call it an improvement of the player because that’s what we do."

"The Kansas City Chiefs, like the rest of the country, were enamored with the U.S. Women’s National team on Sunday evening."

Previewing Kansas City’s offensive lineAnthony Mitchell of Pro Football Spot

"This position battle has quite a few players. Jeff Allen will likely be competing with Zach Fulton who started every game of his rookie season last year. Look for Laurent Duvernay-Tardif as a wildcard. The fact that the Chiefs kept an injured 6th rounder on the roster tells me that they have something in mind for him, and at 6-5 315 his freak body certainly keeps him interesting."
