Coffee with the Chiefs – Will Kansas City win West?

Good morning, Addicts! It’s the start of another new week, this one bringing Kansas City Chiefs mandatory minicamp. The news from Sunday is coming in pretty slow, with people getting ready for all the obligatory Justin Houston stories and anything else fun that comes out of camp.

So, I have put a link below and decided to expound on it, giving Coffee with the Chiefs a bit of a different feel today.

Mailbag, Part IIAdam Teicher of ESPN.com

"I’m not sure they will but the Chiefs have a legitimate shot to win the AFC West for the first time since the Denver Broncos acquired Peyton Manning in 2012. If it happens, I’m sure the Chiefs would be happy to win the division in a tiebreaker, much less by four games."

Teicher’s answer is in response to a fan asking via Twitter whether the Chiefs would win the AFC West by more of less than four games.

First, you have to love the confidence. Not only does the guy think Kansas City will win the division for the first time since 2010, but he believes the deal will be wrapped up around Thanksgiving. If that happens, consider me shocked and beyond thrilled.

That said, I do believe the Chiefs will win the division, something I haven’t felt since the Trent Green era. Kansas City has the best roster in the division, along with the top coaching staff. Of course, nothing in life is guaranteed. The Chiefs could get hurt or simply underperform, but if this group stays on the field and plays to potential, it is going to win 11 or 12 games.

Do you agree, or am I way to confident in this team? Usually, picking Kansas City to do anything positive scares the hell out of me, but this team has a different feel for me.
