Denver Broncos Now Boast Largest Bandwagon In NFL

Peyton Manning may not have won a Super Bowl for the Denver Broncos but he has earned them the title of having the most bandwagon fans.

A new poll from The Harris Poll suggests the Broncos are now the most popular team in America, unseating the Dallas Cowboys from their perch for the first time in six years. Dallas fell to fourth in the poll with the New York Giants, Green Bay Packers, and Pittsburgh Steelers filling out the top five.

The Chiefs were not in the top 10.

We all knew this was likely the case given the presence of Manning and their recent successes of the last two seasons. Follow any Broncos game on Twitter and you’ll see people come out of the woodwork as Denver fans. In some ways it helps solidify and understand why they are such a silly fan base – most of them are only there for Manning.

Meanwhile, Chiefs fans are about as loyal of a fan base as one can find. The team has not won a playoff game in 20 years and has gone through so many different heartbreaks and misfortune that one would think fans would have given up on the team. Alas, fans still care passionately.

Chiefs fans are amazing though, as we already knew. Here’s a short list of recent accomplishments:

  • They put Arrowhead in the books as the loudest stadium in the world
  • They organized a highly successful Save Our Chiefs campaign that caused significant restructuring within the entire organization
  • I mentioned loyalty, right? KC still boasts one of the larger fan bases in the country.

Not too shabby, right?

Denver can go ahead and have their bandwagon. I’m just fine being involved with such a loyal and passionate fan base that doesn’t need a Papa John’s owner to make them worth rooting for.
