By Ben Nielsen
Kansas City is coming into this game quite banged up and they’ll be missing the debut of one of their rookies for the second straight week. Cruel is the fate of bad injury luck.

De’Anthony Thomas is out for the Chiefs game against the Denver Broncos today in Denver. It is his second missed game with the hamstring injury and there is no timetable for when he will be back and ready to play. Kansas City could really use his speed back in the lineup to open up some space in the offense. Alas it won’t be this week.
We already know the Chiefs will be without the services of Joe Mays, Derrick Johnson, Mike DeVito, and Jeff Allen for this team. Mays has a designation to return after six weeks and Allen was just recently placed on the IR with a torn bicep.
In their place are some new names to go with familiar faces. James-Michael Johnson will start at middle linebacker in place of DJ, Vance Walker will get the nod with DeVito out, and Ryan Harris will start at right tackle. KC also has Kevin Vickerson, who was signed this week, to add to the rotation in run downs and promoted Jerry Franklin to the 53-man roster.
Denver is entering today mostly healthy. Reserve offensive lineman Ben Garland is doubtful with an ankle injury, David Burton Jr. is questionable with a shoulder injury, and linebacker Danny Tevathan is out with his knee problem. Outside of those issues the Broncos are pretty healthy.
