National Football Post Mocks Johnny Manziel To The Chiefs

Johnny Football coming to Kansas City? The National Football Post seems to think there’s a scenario where that could happen. NFP released their final mock draft this afternoon and this one has the Chiefs taking Mr. Football.

The writeup:

I really don’t think Manziel will be available this late in the round. Some team will trade up to grab him. That’s the problem with mock drafts. If KC did make this selection, Andy Reid would be thinking Manziel is Mike Vick with instincts.

Michael Vick with instincts? Oh man…

Johnny Football would set the Kansas City football world on fire, that’s for sure. Truthfully, I have no idea if I could contain the insanity that would come with JFF. If Texas A&M as an institution couldn’t handle it, how could I possibly be expected to remain competent myself? There’s a tremendous chance I’d just start going everywhere without a shirt on anymore and start taking selfies with people who look a lot like celebrities.

JFF would drive me insane in so many different ways.

It would be a hell of a lot of fun though if Manziel fell to Kansas City. What would you all do if Manziel was taken by the Chiefs tonight?

My last mock on fanspeak I was able to draft Johnny. Probabaly no way with Jerry Jones ahead of us. What n amazing dillemna for K C of he falls!!

  • Brady Warshawsky

If Johnny Football fell to us, I would take a waiver on him… Or see if someone else would like to trade for our pick at a king’s ransom… A few 2nd rounders, & maybe a 4th.

I believe micah would buy out everything at Berbiglia, if they are still in KCMO. Or Lukas Liquor – I moved from KC in the mid sixties, but, I remember the old B store which split KCK and KCMO. Whenever, anyone in Kansas would have a big party, they would load up there and hope the Kansas Liquor Control board didn’t have an agent outside taking down their license plate and forwarding on to Kansas cops.

  • Randall Miller

Such crazy talk!..number one his agent will not let him go anywhere he does not start number 2 WE HAVE 6 PICKS in this draft with reality only the RG stands a chance to start. And don’t think for one minute Mr. Dorsey does not have an eye on a QB for next years draft…he has already been targeted and with the extra picks next year this is a given. We need 3 of our picks to make a contribution this year. OL, WR and FS or DL. I trust Mr. Dorsey to do what is best for the team and not for his ego like we have seen so many times in the past.

    • Brian Dempsey

      Right on, Randall.

    • tm1946

There are contributions and then there are contributions. We have no #2, asking a whole lot from Dorsey to get even two starters from what is left. Partly based on what he did last year and there are 31 other teams looking as well.
We need more than one to play regularily from game one and not just on special teams or nickle or dime packages.

  • Stacy D. Smith

Depends on who else is there. I’d probably trade out. We’ll get rhythm from someone for the pick.

  • CrispySBC

That’s like my worst nightmare … hey is this Tyler Thigpen 2.0? If R&D draft him I’d be the first on board the fire them bandwagon! However, they’re not that dumb … if he falls to us it’s trade time baby! I figure, realistically, that there’s a chance Bridgewater falls and we can trade back with the Browns … now that’s a realistic scenario. My monies on Johnny Football sitting at the table, looking a his Rolex, sobbing like a little girl and waiting for the 2nd round to get drafted. I think Laddie may be right in that some Coach, who thinks he’s a QB whisper, will pull the trigger on him. We’ll see how that scrambling works for him when a 280 lb. LB plants him 3 ft. in the turf! I just wonder who has the guts to bet their jobs on drafting him. Johnny would be wise to look at a little tape of Cam Newton .. he used to scramble till he got his butt nailed a few times (and missed significant playing time). And Newton is bigger and stronger than Johnny … now Newton sits in the pocket until he HAS to scramble.

    • tm1946

Except….. Reid uses scrambling QBs, or he has in the past. Do not suppose your dislike has anything to do with your opinion.

    Become a Broncos fan!!!

    • CrispySBC

meat … that was my first thought but then I woke-up and realized what a nightmare that’d be. I’ve hated the Donkey’s way too long to root for them. The thought of cheering anything horse face Elway does sends shivers down my spine.

      • freshmeat62

That guy broke my heart so many times, but truth be told, I always was an Elway fan when he wasn’t doing something to hurt the Chiefs.

He was so good, I admired the guy.

  • tm1946

First, if – if Manziel was available at #23.

Second, if – if Manziel was that good and/or Reid thought he was that good.

Then, would Dorsey throw out the plan and take him. Is the plan set in concrete or can the powers that be allow adjustment based on availability.

If it were me and Reid said this is my guy, welcome to KC John. If not, look for a trading partner who thinks he is the next coming and still has a 1st round pick and more available.

  • Michael Shaw

HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA (CHOKING ON LAUGHTER!!) Now seriously Ben, what was your REAL post going to be about this time??

    • Ben Nielsen

All of my posts are fake, you should know this.

      • Michael Shaw

        ROFLMAO! Nice Big Ben!

  • Bigtexjayhawk

Draft Johnny. Then trade Alex Smith to the Texans for their RD 2 and 3 picks. RD 2 grab Gabe Jackson, G then RD 3 take Terrence Brooks, S. Boom.

    • Michael Shaw

So you want to trade a proven starter for a guy that could VERY well be the next TIM TEBOW??? Have you been drinking Micah’s cool aid again?? LOL!!!

  • Brad Thornbury

I’d be first in line for a Johnny Football jersey.

    • Michael Shaw

      To burn it, right???

  • Brian Dempsey

Forget it. Manziel ain’t getting out of the top 16.

    • Michael Shaw

      I hope he goes at #5?? ;P

    • hwy505

      Uh Oh

  • Danny W

Like Vick I would say JF would have durability issues and would hope they would get a reciever, guard, or free safety instead.

  • Bigtexjayhawk

OK highly unlikely we will get Johnny. I know WR is big too. I have not even thought about drafting a RB but seeing how much JC is utilized would it be smart to grab another RB?? JC could go down anytime and Davis has issues too. Anyone know of a good RB in 4th or 5th round??
