Danieal Manning Has A Visit Planned With Kansas City Chiefs

Recently released safety Danieal Manning – yeah, the spelling is throwing me off, too – told Sirius XM he has visits with the Cincinnati Bengals and Kansas City Chiefs lined up this week.

Manning added this:

We talked yesterday how Manning would fit should the Chiefs decide to pursue him – which they are apparently now doing – and what it would mean for the Chiefs. We’ll spare you from repeat what was said yesterday again today.

All we will add is the Chiefs are clearly not done looking for depth on their roster. They’ve made multiple small profile moves to shore up the back-end of the roster so they can use their draft picks however they wish. One should expect this to be the norm in free agency from now on.

We’ll keep you updated on Manning news as it becomes available. For now, what do you think about the possibility of adding Manning to the secondary?

I’d be ok with hearing “Manning has been picked off by Manning!”

  • Jeff B.

I’d be happy if he was added to the Chiefs.

  • Austin Wagner

    Hopefully not another Dunta Robinson.

  • Jacob

Great, another FA I can get excited about before having my hopes crushed.

    • Daniel Mayfield

Don’t get your hopes up high. Keep your chin up but don’t be way up in the clouds

What is forgotten about the career of Manning is he played under Dave Toub in Chicago. In fact, he returned a kick off for 83 yards and a TD.

  • Stacy D. Smith

The 2014 strong safety version of Quentin Demps. Would be a quality signing and he’d probably see lots of snaps.

  • Daniel Mayfield

If he’s able to keep his ground and not let the other players pass him as easy as Lewis did, cause of his speed, it will be an upgrade.
Keep the players infront of them, don’t let them get a lot of yards when they get the ball, and be able to tackle solo in open field……I think he’d be good.
