Things are starting to slow down around the NFL when it comes to free agency but there are still players out there who could help the Chiefs in 2014. Here’s a quick glance of some of the developments today

NATE ALLEN RE-SIGNS WITH EAGLES

Kansas City lost a potential safety target with Nate Allen re-signing with the Philadelphia Eagles. Philly is signing a lot of safeties.

Here’s the write-up by Jeff McLane:

"The Eagles and safety Nate Allen agreed on a one-year contract, the team announced Monday.Allen became an unrestricted free agent last Tuesday, but after almost of week of testing the market, opted to return to Philly. He becomes the third safety the Eagles have signed in the last week after they inked Malcolm Jenkins to a three-year contract and Chris Maragos to a two-year deal."

DEVIN HESTER INTERESTED IN MIAMI?

A report from Miami’s Sun-Sentinel says Devin Hester would love to join the Dolphins.

"“I would love to play for the Dolphins,” Hester said Saturday from his USA Football FUNdamentals clinic at his alma mater, Rivera Beach Suncoast High School."

Hester is from Florida and attended the University of Miami. A tandem of Hester paired with Mike Wallace would make one speedy combination.

Kansas City is thought to have shown interest in Hester.

JETS INTERESTED IN SIDNEY RICE, TO SIGN JACOBY FORD

The failed courting of Emmanuel Sanders did reveal to us that the Chiefs are still looking for wide receiver help in free agency. One potential target, Sidney Rice, may soon be gone.

How high the interest is in Rice is unknown. It should be noted the Jets are expected to sign Jacoby Ford at some point this week.

One would think after signing Eric Decker and Ford that Rice would be off the table. However, this is the Jets we are talking about so anything is possible.
