Dwayne Bowe’s Court Date Delayed

Remember when Dwayne Bowe was arrested for allegedly possessing marijuana and speeding? Well he still hasn’t had to to court for the offense yet and it looks like it is going to be another month before he does.

Bowe was arrested back on November 11 and has had multiple court dates pushed back. I’m not a lawyer so I cannot tell you what this means.

Bowe could be suspended up to four games by the NFL if he is found guilty in court. He was previously suspended for four games for violating the leagues performance enhancing drug policy but the league separates the PED and substance abuse policies in the collective bargaining agreement. This is why Bowe  will not suffer a stiffer penalty if he is suspended.

Coincidence or not, the Chiefs were 2-6 in their final eight games, including the playoff game, after Bowe was arrested. I blame pot and Sonic for the Chiefs second half collapse.

Good god why do we pay him so much again??He would be a great #2 at alot less money but this guy drives me nuts man.Hes always shown glimpses but I think honestly he’s just not a smart guy.I think he does what he feels like and when he’s stoned that’s not squat!;-)

Bowe’s contract will be the darkest hour of Dorsey’s dynasty in KC. If anybody should restructure and take a pay cut it should be him. How about an pay for play contract with big cash for performance?

As if it wasn’t bad enough… His off field antic’s just added salt to the wound! Regardless of whether he is found not guilty the fact that he continually allows to put himself in those situations speaks volumes!

      • KCMikeG

True! Is there anyway to find out if we have an out in his contract if he is found guilty? If he is he will miss four games – that’s a quarter of the season and he should have to restructure.

Per Adam Teicher 1/14/1 (Article on ESPN)
“It’s called a morality clause and you can bet one was included in his (Bowes) contract. Having had previous incident…”
If Bowe is suspended &/or KC has to go into the market to find help, the financial relief should come out of his monies for 2014!

Bowe is a good receiver, but he is not right for Alex Smith. Bowe is good at catching in traffic and getting YAC, but he doesn’t really have the speed to get separation from CBs. Smith rarely throws to guys who aren’t wide open, that’s why people say he is too conservative.
