The Kansas City Chiefs have a big game coming up against the San Diego Chargers at home.

Not only are the Chargers a divisional opponent, but the results of this game will matter in the Chiefs’ hunt for the AFC West title.

Remember, Kansas City is tied with Denver right now on top of the division, and the two will meet up  in two weeks at Arrowhead.

A win against San Diego will help the Chiefs get back some momentum after the Denver loss, and it will also make winning at Arrowhead the next weekend that much more important.

Is this a must win for Kansas City though?

Cornerback Brandon Flowers certainly thinks so.

“Every week is a must-win in the NFL,” he said. “You can fall behind easily when your losses start tallying up. They are an explosive group and we have to come to play. Every week you have to come to play in the NFL. This is the next game, you have to prepare like it’s the next game and get ready for it,” Flowers explained.

He went on to talk about the significance of playing San Diego.

“Those are always tough games. No matter what the record is, when a division opponent comes in, you always want to have that win for bragging rights,” he said. “You want to beat guys in your division; they are going to come in here with the same attitude this Sunday. We have to protect our house. It’s going to be a great game, but you have to go make it happen and get a win.”

San Diego enters this game at 4-6 and the Chargers ranked third in the AFC West. The two teams will meet up for the second time in San Diego in Week 17.
