Chiefs Pederson on Kyle Williams; Selling a Ring for Tickets; Respect from the NFL

Many people need their coffee to get up and going in the morning, and especially in the middle of the afternoon when things are starting to drag.  Here at Arrowhead Addict, we understand that for a Chiefs fan, coffee is simply not enough.

Here’s all that’s happening around Chiefs Kingdom today.

Welcome to The Fix.

It’s Red Friday and if you’re a Chiefs fan and not wearing your red today — loud and proud — you’re wrong! The Chiefs are only two days away from their primetime showdown with the “other” team in the AFC West, the Denver Broncos. The entire NFL world will be watching as this game was flexed to the primetime slot due to the significant impact it has on the entire outcome of the AFC playoff picture.

One of the biggest battle cries of Chiefs fans all season was that the national media has refused to give them any respect. However, looking at this piece from Adam Schein at NFL.com, he actually has become a believer in the Chiefs.

"Now Manning must deal with the Chiefs, who not only boast the NFL’s best pass rush but have the players to frustrate and dominate without blitzing. The Chiefs have racked up a league-high 36 sacks, with outside linebackers Justin Houston (11 sacks) and Tamba Hali (nine) leading the charge."

Over at the “Mothership,” Chiefs insider Reid Ferrin posted a great piece breaking down the three coordinators who make the Chiefs work. Chiefs offensive coordinator Doug Pederson was asked about the acquisition of wide receiver Kyle Williams and if he would get any playing time against Denver.

"“Right now, it would be hard (to know), until we get a chance to see him in practice and run around,” Pederson said. “It would really kind of be an injustice to him to put him out there, not knowing our system. Right now, we’ll see how it goes, and we will just evaluate him in practice and see where he is at.”"

You should check out the whole piece by Ferrin here as well as the rest of the stuff on kcchiefs.com, as they have some great hi resolution photo galleries of practice and games up as well.

Finally, one of the weirder stories to surface during the week, a Kansas City woman put her wedding ring on Craigslist in exchange for two tickets to the Chiefs vs. Broncos in Arrowhead on December 1st. She finally got was she was looking for, and then some. This from the piece by Lisa Gutierrez at the Kansas City Star:

"The official trade was the ring for 4 tickets to the 12/1 Broncos game and 2 tickets to the 11/24 Chargers game."

As the week comes to an end and Chiefs Kingdom rolls through Red Friday, keep it here at Arrowhead Addict for all your Chiefs information and analysis. We’ll have new content all weekend long, leading up to the game on Sunday night!
