Who would have called that the biggest game in the NFL this year would be a week 10 match up featuring the Kansas City Chiefs and The Denver Broncos. No one could have predicted that the Chiefs would be playing this well and if they did I hope they laid a bet down with Vegas about it.

As the biggest game of the season approaches the Chiefs players spoke up this week about facing Denver in what could be a battle for the AFC West

Quarterback Alex Smith talked about how people are saying this is the first real test for this Chiefs offense,

"I mean there are tests every week. This one is bigger because it’s a division game, no question and division implication. These games are so important, especially as the year goes on and you get down to the end of the line. Those games are huge and this one is no different."

With the arrest of Dwayne Bowe for speeding and possession of marijuana Smith was asked about putting aside distractions,

"I think it starts with the environment of the building, the environment of the locker room, where the focus is and the mindset of the guys. For us, we have a bunch of guys that are focused on winning and doing things the right way. For me, that starts in preparation, that starts during the week, in practice, film room, meetings and all of that."

Alex Smith on how to beat Denver this Sunday night,

"Score more points. In the end, this isn’t a contest that—yeah, they put up a ton of stats and have done all of that. For us, we just have to score more points than them. That’s the bottom line. Obviously, for us we have to go out there and execute. I think if you go out there and try and play keep away and hold the ball from them, I don’t think good things happen. For us, it’s just go out there and score points."

Smith on getting tight end Anthony Fasano back,

"It’s huge getting him back. To say the least, he’s a great player. He does so much for us in the run game and the pass game. He’s played a lot of football in this league and caught a lot of balls. Anytime you get a player of his caliber back, it’s a good thing."

Tight End Anthony Fasano about facing Denver,

"It’s a big game, just like every week prior has been but especially big in the division. Wins in a division pretty much count for a game and a half. So, it’s a big test against a very good football team."

Linebacker Tamba Hali spoke about Manning shouting at the line of scrimmage and if he tries to listen and understand,

"No, myself personally, I don’t pay attention to what he’s saying. His tendencies are his tendencies, and you can’t really pay too much attention to that or you get caught up in his game. We have a game plan, and we just want to execute our game plan."

Hali was also asked about what Denver’s offensive mindset might be this week,

"We’re going to run the ball. We’re going to run the ball against this defense. We’re going to use the clock and not get into this type of game where we’re passing the ball. These guys are going to do what they like doing. I think that’s what they’re doing. From my standpoint, we just need to stop the run. If they want to run it, our goal is to stop the run and get after the presser."

Cornerback Brandon Flowers was asked about Denver receiver Wes Welker,

"Definitely. You have to fit in the extra week to try and gain the edge on Denver. They’re so precise. They’re so fluid in what they do. You have to try and find a way to disrupt timing, disrupt what they do. It’s going to be a tough challenge, but I feel like we have the players and the system to get it done."

Finally punter Dustin Colquitt was asked if he was competitive with his brother Britton Colquitt,

"Very, since we were little kids, obviously. We root for each other too. I’ve been messing with him, and he’s been messing with me since we were little. It’s one of those things that you want to see each other be successful, but at the same time we’re trying to win this game."

Colquitt was finally asked about the one game mentality of this team and feeding off the energy,

"Arrowhead is back. We’re relishing that moment, but we know we have that simple one game at a time thing and that’s something that we talked about before we even won a game. We’re keeping with that; we’re sticking with it. We’re going to enjoy it after the season is over. We’re going to flip back and see that we were able to accomplish this and this and this. Hopefully we can keep this one game at a time mentality."
