Chiefs Claim Recently Released 49ers WR Kyle Williams

Kyle Williams was drafted in the sixth round of the 2010 NFL draft by the San Francisco 49ers. The team that drafted him let him go yesterday, and through the waivers process, he has ended up with the Kansas City Chiefs.

In four years with San Francisco, Williams caught 47 receptions for 574 yards and four touchdowns. He also returned punts and kicks.

The Chiefs offense has struggled to move the ball through the air in 2013, so one can’t blame John Dorsey and Andy Reid for wanting to take a chance on another wideout. After all, Kansas City has had success with the 49er’s cast-offs so far.
