Chiefs’ Tamba Hali Makes His Rap Debut
Kansas City Chiefs OLB Tamba Hali is more than just a Pro Bowl football player.
He’s also a rapper.
We’ve heard stories for years about Hali spitting rhymes for his teammates in the locker room. Now it appears one of the most feared pass rushers in the NFL will make his official debut on a new album from KC recording artist, Steven Cooper.
We received an email today from Cooper’s manager, David “DJ Lee:
"Steven has been rapping for over 10 years, toured all over the country and has had features with artist like Akon, Tech N9ne, David Cook, etc.On November 19th, Steven is releasing his newest album, “Stereotype” . On this record we will be releasing a brand new single called “Fast Lane” that is featuring Krizz Kaliko and chiefs pro-bowl linebacker Tamba Hali. Most people do not know that Tamba has been crafting his rap game for many years, and this release with Steven Cooper will be his DEBUT release for Kansas City and the world to hear."
You can check out the track that features Tamba below. Hali comes in and does his bit at 2:52. I have to say, I was pretty impressed with Tamba. He’s no Stacy “Reach” Smith, but he certainly holds his own. I like his slower, steady style. I’ll be interested to see what Arrowhead Addict’s Hip Hop artist, Reach, has to say about Hali’s skills. I am sure he will let us know in the comments.
What do you think, Addicts? Does Hali have a career in music after football?
