Chiefs Player To Keep An Eye On: Dexter McCluster, WR

Oct 20, 2013; Kansas City, MO, USA; Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Dexter McCluster (22) gets past Houston Texans cornerback Brice McCain (21) in the second half at Arrowhead Stadium. The Chiefs won 17-16. Mandatory Credit: John Rieger-USA TODAY Sports

McCluster really had his first big game of the season last week. Hitting him on bubble screens and out of the backfield, he was able to pick up 70 yards through the air. Look for him to be a big target in the passing game this week.

Chiefs Player Who Must Step Up: Alex Smith, QB

Last week, Andrew Kulha highlighted Smith as a guy who needed to step up. Even though this team is winning, Smith hasn’t thrown a TD pass in three weeks. he absolutely needs to pick up where he left off last week and move this offense, especially on third down.

X-Factor:  Chiefs’ Special Teams

Oct 20, 2013; Kansas City, MO, USA; Kansas City Chiefs defensive back Quintin Demps (35) runs back a kick during the second half of the game against the Houston Texans at Arrowhead Stadium. The Chiefs won 17-16. Mandatory Credit: Denny Medley-USA TODAY Sports

Prediction:

Demps hasn’t run a kickoff back yet this season, though he has given the Chiefs’ offense excellent field position on several returns. I think this could be the week Demps goes to the house.
