The Kansas City Chiefs dropped game No. 2 of the 2013 preseason to the San Francisco 49ers, 15-13.
Some facets of the Chiefs’ game were encouraging (See: Special Teams/Knile Davis) and others, were just downright bad (See: Jon Baldwin/Pass Protection).
We here at Arrowhead Addict pride ourselves on bringing you the best Chiefs’ analysis and opinion possible, but in an effort to give the Addicts a voice, we reached out on Twitter to ask you your thoughts on the game.
Here’s what you had to say:
Chris Holly thinks that emotions got the best of Alex Smith last night:
@ArrowheadAddict It seemed like emotions got to Alex Smith a little or we went against a better defense with San Francisco then New Orleans.

Brendan Roberts is looking on the bright side:
@ArrowheadAddict I felt like our defense as a hole has gotten a lot stronger. Our special teams also have gotten so much better!

That’s a pretty good attitude to take for the preseason. While there were things to worry about, the defense and special teams looks great right now.
And here we go with the Jon Baldwin hate:
@ArrowheadAddict Very vanilla game plan, oline needs to step up, defense and special teams looked good, time to cut baldwin, complete bust.

@ArrowheadAddict my thoughts are that we cant really do much without Jamaal Charles and Baldwin is a waste of space on the roster.

@ArrowheadAddict Baldwin is dropping the ball literally and metaphorically.

Frankly, it’s tough to defend No. 89. He was targeted three times and came away with zero receptions last night.
Ryan Mumma blames the offensive line for the Chiefs’ bad offensive showing:
@ArrowheadAddict the o-line needs to step up. That man sacks allowed is unacceptable even in a pre-season game. To many dropped passes also

Words of wisdom right here:
@ArrowheadAddict we need to capitalize on the great field position our special teams is giving us.. Field goals don’t win games

I said the same thing last night in one of my recaps. Need to score when you’ve got a short field to work with.
So, we’ve got Alex Smith aka “Captain Checkdown” and now a new nickname for the team:

Hopefully the name doesn’t stick.
Finally, more people piling on Baldwin:
@ArrowheadAddict Baldwin needs punched in his face.
— Dereke Mallory (@Mallord39) August 17, 2013

Looks like Mr. Baldwin isn’t the most popular player in Chiefs Kingdom right now.
