2013 NFL Draft: Former Chief Gary Barbaro To Announce KC’s Day Two Picks
James Lang-USA TODAY Sports
The NFL has announced the former players that will announce each NFL team’s second day picks during the 2013 NFL Draft.
For the Kansas City Chiefs, former DB Gary Barbaro will read the picks.
Barbaro was drafted by the Chiefs in the third round of the 1976 NFL Draft. He played with the team from 1976-1082 before a contract dispute kept him out of the 1983 season, which was a shame because that was the year I was born and I’d of liked to have seen him play. He was elected to three Pro Bowls.
Barbaro went on to play one season in the USFL with the New Jersey Generals before an injury forced him into retirement.
The NFL draft is three days next week. Thursday evening is just for the first round. Then, on Friday, teams will pick players for rounds two and three. This is the day that the former players will announce the picks.
As of right now, the Chiefs don’t have a second-round pick so Barbaro will just be announcing in the third round.
If the Chiefs are able trade LT Branden Albert, they may find themselves with some extra picks so Barbaro might get some extra work.
All right, time to turn to some of you Old Timers. (I’m looking at you Ladner.) Tell us everything you remember about Barbaro.
