Talking Chiefs, Alex Smith, On “The Walk”

Brian Spurlock-USA TODAY Sports

Today I had the pleasure of being a guest on “The Walk” with Justin Dougherty. The podcast is new and I was fortunate enough to be a guest on episode three.

Justin reached out to be to come on and talk about all the madness surrounding Alex Smith and the Chiefs. We also touched on the 2013 NFL Draft and I gave my thoughts on what the Chiefs might do with the No.1 pick and beyond.

You can listen to the show below. I’m on at the very beginning but I recommend checking out the entire program.

Also, while we are on the subject of podcasts, Big Matt and I are kicking around the idea of firing up a couple of episodes of AA Radio. Matt has been in prison the last few months so we haven’t been able to record but he called me last night and said he might be making parole. So keep an eye out for that.

Enjoy.

Senior Editor of Arrowhead Addict, Patrick Allen, joins us to discuss Alex Smith to the Chiefs and what the Chiefs will do in the draft.

Springfield Cardinals broadcasting, Jeff Levering, says his FINAL goodbye.

All ended with biggest draft busts in any sport.

Nice job Patrick. You stated your position clearly & to the point.

On the question of “Do we have to win now?” I’m not sure we do as long as this offense gets going. We can still lose a bit as long as strides are taken in the offense. However, with our defense, if our offense is much better I don’t see how it can’t result in wins.

I don’t see why we need to win now. I mean do people really think we should? Going from 2-14 to Super bowl champs or even AFC west champs is a little ridiculous I think to. But if we get the right QB and God knows I mean Geno why not year 2? Our D line has to many ?’s to believe to much will happen next year regardless what we do this year.

        Colts did it

      • Michael Shaw

Well I don’t know about you, but I want a 9, 10 or 11 win season. We sent 6 freaking guys to the pro bowl! Why waste that talent by not getting a QB that can help us win NOW???!!!! If we had Alex last year, I don’t think Denver wins the division. Hell if we had Andy Dalton, Nick Foles or anyone not named Cassel or Quinn, we would have been twice as competitive last year as we were. Then we would have been in a better draft position this year as far as value goes. This year I don’t think the #1 is as valuable as it was the last three years!!

you go ahead and keep telling yourself Alex smith is a good QB . The chiefs dont need a game manager we need CHANGE draft and develop . Draft Geno bring in Alex smith and develop Geno smith and see if Alex can get us to the playoffs and win now .

Yuuuup, and wouldn’t it be crazy to see D.McNabb as a QB coach for G.Smith next year? They’re both running QB’s (or can run) and McNabb knows Reid’s offense better than anyone, it’s a long shot but hey anythings possible!

I miss Big Matt. I always thought him, PA, and Lyle were the best writers on this site, but he was probably my favorite. You should definitely resurrect AA radio with him

    Nicely done Paddy!

YOu should smoke a few packs of smokes before your next one. Get that voice raspy, and scratchy.

Lets face it the Pro Bowl is a joke. And anyone who thinks that a college QB is going to turn around a 2 and 14 team into division champs when Denver is setting in the cat bird’s seat with possibly the best QB who ever played the game is even a bigger joke. I think the AFC West is owned by the Broncos unless Peyton gets injured or retires. Start looking at the Broncos and the Chiefs position to position and if you are honest, they are better and younger at most positions. So let’s build the best team we can to compete after Peyton runs his course.

I really miss AA Radio. Just tell Big Matt that you’re going to take away his Blu-Ray LOTR trilogy until he agrees to host an episode. Done and done.
